Jamil Lee

Co-Founder, Executive Director

Jamil Lee is a Kansas City–based artist, designer, curator, and founder of the International African American Art Museum of Kansas City. With more than 25 years of experience in art and design, he brings an independent perspective to conversations about creativity, culture, and community.

His work connects visual art with music, fashion, film, and storytelling—creating spaces where established and emerging artists can share their work and build relationships. Through exhibitions, collaborations, and public programs, he champions African American and Latino artists while exploring how culture shapes our everyday lives.

As part of Blacktivity, Jamil brings that same curiosity and creative spirit to discussions about art, identity, entrepreneurship, and the people moving culture forward.
