Baltimore, MD — This summer, Black joy takes center stage.
Blacktivity, the new streaming platform dedicated to empowering Black creatives and shifting the landscape of media ownership, is launching in a major way—through the power of music, movement, and community. On Saturday, August 30, the inaugural Blacktivity Live event will take over CFG Bank Arena, with hip-hop superstar DaBaby and rising sensation Toosii headlining an explosive celebration of culture and purpose.
Co-presented by Cruz Control Entertainment, Voices, and Blacktivity, the evening marks more than just a concert—it’s a bold declaration of creative freedom and economic equity for Black storytellers.
For Blacktivity, this launch isn’t just symbolic—it’s mission-driven. The nonprofit platform was built to elevate stories often overlooked in mainstream media while ensuring that Black creatives are paid, protected, and celebrated. With its official debut set for later this summer, the August 30th event is a live manifestation of the platform’s values: joy, representation, and radical collaboration.
At the heart of the night is a powerhouse music lineup. Known for hits like Suge, Rockstar, and his unforgettable stage presence, DaBaby brings the kind of unapologetic energy that turns arenas into movement spaces. He’s joined by Toosii, the melodic rapper behind viral hits like Favorite Song and Love Cycle, who’s carved out a space at the intersection of vulnerability and bravado.
The concert also includes a special performance by Pearl Jade, an emerging R&B force whose project GROWL has already begin to capture industry attention. Her sound and cinematic blend of grit and soul—perfectly embodies the Blacktivity spirit.
A dance tribute to the region’s rich creative roots will bridge Baltimore and DC in motion. The showcase is curated by two hometown legends: Arrington “Entertaina” Lassiter of DC and Terry “TSU Terry” Wedington of Baltimore, whose choreography and cultural impact have shaped movement styles far beyond the DMV.
As the music pulses, Blacktivity will also pause to honor the powerful women driving culture forward. The Women of Empowerment segment will spotlight six dynamic DMV leaders making bold moves in media, fashion, and community service:
Dawn Nicole Moss, former Miss Black USA and current VP of Carolina Kitchen, is a certified health communicator and motivational speaker using her platform to inspire healing and leadership.
Ashleigh Demi, CEO and television contributor, is a fearless advocate for Black media representation, creating space for new narratives to emerge.
Micheline Bowman has led with integrity as a media relations expert and community connector, championing honest storytelling and public engagement.
Lana Rae, a pioneering stylist and founder of the Maryland Fashion Awards, continues to shape the region’s aesthetic landscape with boundary-pushing creativity.
Autumn Joi, host of Midday Love, brings unmatched energy to every mic she touches, with a deep commitment to mentorship and representation.
Deja Perez, beloved on-air voice at Majic 102.3/92.7, is known for connecting communities through authentic, impactful broadcasting.
More special guests are expected to be announced, adding even more excitement to an already landmark evening.
