style icon Elgin Charles Inks Development Deal with Blacktivity Streaming Network for ‘Hair Camp’ Reality Series.
Emperor of Hair Elgin Charles
The “Emperor of Hair” is back—this time with a crown fit for the next generation. Blacktivity, the first Black‑owned, nonprofit streaming platform built to champion Black and BIPOC creatives, has officially partnered with legendary stylist Elgin Charles to develop Elgin Charles’ Hair Camp, a high‑stakes, culture‑driven reality competition series set to debut in 2026.
For decades, Elgin Charles has defined style and sophistication—best‑selling author, award‑winning entrepreneur, and the first Black proprietor of a salon in Beverly Hills. More than ten years after his hit VH1 series Beverly Hills Fabulous, he returns to television with a new mission: to find and mentor the next great beauty industry mogul.
In Hair Camp, talented stylists from across the country will face challenges testing their artistry, business acumen, and ability to inspire their communities. The grand prize includes a $25,000 salon grant, personal mentorship from Charles, licensing rights to his signature brand, and a launchpad into global hair stardom.
“This isn’t just about hair—it’s about legacy, excellence, and lifting up the next generation of creative leaders,” says Charles. “Blacktivity is the perfect partner for this vision, with a platform that truly honors our culture and our talents.”
With its exclusive premiere on watchblacktivity.com in 2026, Elgin Charles’ Hair Camp marks a powerful step in Blacktivity’s mission to rewrite the rules of the digital content economy—returning revenue, ownership, and opportunity back to the community.
